Every action matters. As members of Greystones, we have the power to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people by making informed, ethical choices and raising our collective voice.
Join us in front of the Greystones DART station on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 7.30AM to 8AM.
We are holding a Peaceful Vigil from Burnaby Park to the Cove on May 23rd 2026.
The event is open to all members of the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring flowers and candles. The walk is family friendly and entirely peaceful. We hope to welcome a diverse array of people, from all ages and political backgrounds.
In tandem with the vigil, we are also opening a fundraiser in support of Gaza Go Bragh. Donations can be made here.
This vigil takes place against a continued backdrop of escalating violations of Palestinian rights, sharpening the need for the Government to take action.
A death penalty for Palestinians only. On March 30th 2026, the Israeli Parliament passed the Death Penalty for Terrorists Law, making Israel one of the only democracies to expand capital punishment in recent years. The law applies exclusively to Palestinians. This is a continued demonstration of Israel’s attack on fundamental human rights. UN human rights experts note that mandatory death sentences are prohibited under international law. They stated that the law “effectively singles out Palestinians for execution” and conveys that “Palestinian lives are less worthy of legal protection.”
A man-made famine and water crisis. The humanitarian situation in Gaza has deteriorated to catastrophic levels. According to the IPC, approximately 470,000 people (22% of Gaza’s population) face the imminent threat of starvation. At least 132,000 children under the age of five are expected to suffer acute malnutrition through June 2026, double the estimates of a year earlier. A total water crisis exists across all of Gaza. Dehydration is making people acutely ill, with children the most vulnerable. Infectious diseases including hepatitis, vomiting and diarrhoea are spreading rapidly in overcrowded areas. Organisers stress that this is not a natural disaster: it is a man-made catastrophe, the result of deliberate restrictions on food, water and humanitarian access.
Enact the Occupied Territories Bill. In July 2025, the cross-party Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade published its pre-legislative scrutiny report on the Occupied Territories Bill. The Committee — with no dissent — strongly recommended that the Government progress the Bill and that the prohibition be extended to include not only goods but also trade in services, in line with the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice and the UN Resolution which Ireland co-sponsored. Despite the report’s publication, the Bill has not yet been enacted. Campaigners warn that any version that excludes services would represent a dilution of Ireland’s stated values and international legal obligations.
At the 2024 general election, every party leader committed publicly to passing the Occupied Territories Bill. It featured in the subsequent Programme for Government. The democratic mandate is clear. What is lacking is the political will to act on it.
Withdraw your financial support from institutions that fund the occupation. If you hold any Israeli bonds, personally or through pensions or investments, consider divesting and asking your fund managers to do the same. Find out more here.
Avoid buying products and services listed by the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement as complicit in the occupation. Choose alternatives that do not profit from oppression. Find out more about why boycotts are important here. Look up the businesses that have joined your local Apartheid Free Zone and encourage your local businesses to sign up! Our power is in our buck.
Call on the Tanaiste and Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Harris to enact the Occupied Territories Bill, and include services. A short, respectful email can keep the pressure up.
Speak out. Share credible information, stories, and calls to action. Tag Irish government representatives and EU officials to let them know this issue matters to you, and that you’re watching their response.
Support humanitarian and advocacy organizations working in Palestine, as well as families and groups on the ground. Every donation helps provide aid, amplify awareness, and push for justice. Find a list here.
Read books, listen to Palestinian voices, attend talks, and diversify your news sources (Western outlets often have inherent bias in the way they cover the genocide - learn more here). Awareness is the foundation of meaningful solidarity. Here are some great places to start: Decolonize Palestine; list of readings from Harvard; book One Day Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkar; No Other Land documentary; Communicating Palestine Education Toolkit.
Note: We are also very conscious of the current and ongoing massacre happening in Lebanon, and urge all to also be informed about the theft of land and murder of innocent people being committed by Israel's imperialist expansion. Please take some time to learn more about the conflict via Aljazeera or on the IRC's website. You can also help by donating to the Red Cross or UNICEF.
